Halloween en keltisk högtid

Nu är det dags att fira Halloween igen, en tradition som växt sig allt starkare de senaste årtionden i Sverige. Vi på BB4 Communication är alltid nyfikna på varför man gör eller firar något och har därför tittat lite närmare på varför vi firar Halloween.

Många tror att Halloween är en amerikansk tradition, men Halloween är en urgammal keltisk högtid som irländska invandrare tog med sig till USA under 1840-talet. Samma dag som Halloween är firade kelterna nyår under namnet ”Samhain” omkring 8–900 f. Kr . Kelterna trodde att de döda reste sig från graven för att hemsöka de levande och hitta vägen till dödsriket på denna årets sista dag, samt att en man utan huvud skulle resa sig från graven och hugga huvudena av de levande för att sätta på sig själv.

William Shakespeare (1564-1616) used about 29,000 words in his plays, of which 10,000 had never been used in a written work before.

Today, the written content is of great importance again to make difference and to get noticed on the social medias.

Thomas Edison inventor

Many inventions come from a pure chance.  One such example is from the American inventor Thomas Edison, most known as the founder of the light bulb and the phonograph . In 1875 Thomas Edison happened to discover the photocopying, when he used paraffin to try to improve the telegraph wire.

However,  Chester Carlson is officially the inventor of the photocopying and he applied for the patent for the process in 1938.
